Staurogyne sp. ‘Porto Velho’ is an attractive foreground plant that will grow in almost all light conditions. The lower the light intensity, the taller the plant will grow, so for more compact growth, ensure stronger lighting. The leaf colours are also dependent on light intensity; these range from greyish green to a subtle purple under particularly favourable conditions. Once added to an aquarium, this plant needs a little time to acclimatise, but once fully settled, growing speed will pick up. If you regularly trim the plant, this will create a nice carpet across the substrate. Propagation is from cuttings.
